Dr. Deborah Smith Pollard(WJLB Radio 98FM DETROIT) and the Prince of Praise Byron Cage CD Celebration.
In keeping with Dr. Deb's spirit of excellence, the evening's celebration began on time with Stellar-Award nominated,
God's Little Soldiers International, under the directions of Detroit International Records founder, James D. Render II.
The young men got the party started by ministering in song and scripture and the audience was on their feet.

BIOGRAPHY

God’s Little Soldiers International, a Christian boys choir founded in 1997 at the Malcolm X Academy, in Detroit, Michigan, is comprised of Inner City boys. The objective of the choir is to keep God first while giving Inner City boys exposure beyond their urban setting. They have Bible study and vocal training throughout the week, as well as keeping up with their academics. Its founders Daryl Davis and James Render are State Certified teachers who have dedicated themselves to the empowerment of these Inner City youth.

CBS/UPN featured God’s Little Soldiers International in a Christmas television special “Songs For the Holiday.,” with Byron Cage and J. Moss. They won Amateur Night at the World Famous Apollo Theater. They have traveled nationally singing in every major city throughout the United States and studied French for three months prior to singing in Paris, France and London, England. God’s Little Soldiers International was the featured opening for the National NAACP annual convention with keynote speaker Senator Hillary Clinton, rendering their stirring selection of "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing." They have been interviewed on national television and radio programs; These young men make regular appearances on the International Bobby Jones Gospel Show. After completing a 6-day engagement tour of San Francisco, they received an official Proclamation from the City and County of San Francisco from the Mayor, naming December 12th God's Little Soldiers International Day. God’s Little Soldiers International is the first boys’ choir to ever be nominated for a Gospel Stellar Award.  According to national radio promoters they are one of the most recognized children’s choirs in the country. They are slated for a part in the movie depicting the lives of the legendary male singing group, the Dramatics. These young warriors have performed (ministered) with Fred Hammond, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Tramaine Hawkins, Karen Clark-Sheard, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Dottie People, Byron Cage, J. Moss, Chris Jones and the Word, Detrick Haddon, Ambassador, Lecrae, Kierra Sheard, and many others.

Their overall objectives are keeping themselves off the streets, keeping on a progressive upward path and to be a blessing unto others. The choir travels throughout the United States and Internationally, singing praises unto the Lord, while at the same time garnering an unforgettable educational experience. The choir has a 95% success rate of its members graduating high and attending college, trade school or enlisting for military service.  A Hollywood producer contacted Detroit International Records contemplating placing one of their songs on a movie soundtrack. They will be touring Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. other cities are in the works. The Lord has them truly marching.

This organization has been in existence for twelve (12) years strong. The Lord is the Author and the Finisher of this organization and only He knows where it will lead.

19. The majority of the boys are Honor Roll students from the Malcolm X Academy of Detroit, a Detroit Public School of excellence.

20. Recently received a national ice cream endorsement from Papa Romano’s Pizza. Their national brand of Little Soldier Ice Cream is slated to go nationally late fall ’09.

21. Featured in the Detroit Free Press News as an outstanding group.

22. The Governor of the state of Michigan personally requested for the Soldiers to sing at her inauguration.

23. They are featured annually at the National Progressive Baptist Convention.

24. Marched with actor Chris Tucker, Reverend Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, U.S.Vice President Candidate Jack Kemp and others for the re-enactment of Selma, Alabama’s Bloody Sunday March over the James Pettis Bridge.
